Characteristics of the field

The Information Technology school education program prepares students for activities in work areas that focus on the active use of information and communication technologies. Students will learn the necessary knowledge and skills in the field of hardware (HW) and software (SW) of personal computers, computer networks and technical means of data transmission. They will get the necessary overview of developments in the field, news and possibilities for improving the quality of work with information. They are equipped with basic knowledge for orientation in the market economy and the creation of a corporate identity. After completing the preparation and successfully passing the matriculation exam, the graduate is ready for employment in the corresponding technical and economic functions in all workplaces where the use of information and communication technologies is dominant, both in the state and in the private sphere.

Application

The graduate is able to design and assemble personal computers, use means of electronic communication, create and manage websites, manages the creation and editing of graphic objects and presentations, knows the essence of creating various algorithms and programming, understands the basics of system analysis and synthesis in solving economic and business problems. Therefore, it can be applied especially in work areas focused on:

 

  • designs and implementation of HW solutions;
  • maintenance of information technology (IT) resources from a HW point of view;
  • programming and development of user, database and web solutions;
  • installation and management of application SW;
  • installation and management of operating systems (OS);
  • design, implementation and administration of networks;
  • qualified sale of IT resources, including consulting;
  • general and specialized support for users of IT resources.

 

Graduates are most often employed on the labor market primarily as an information technology technician, user support worker, programmer, application administrator, operating system administrator, network administrator, information technology dealer, etc.

 

The obtained secondary education with the matriculation exam allows the graduate to continue his studies at universities or higher vocational schools in related fields, or to engage in their own entrepreneurial activity.
